The vikings

The vikings lived in Sweden, Norway and Denmark in 300 years, between year 700 to 1050. Their reckless voyages got known pretty fast. Iceland was discovered year 870, Greenland in 950 and Leif Eriksson might have been the first European that landed in Newfoundland, Canada 1001. The vikings weren’t only skillful seafarer and warriors, but talented businessmen, craftsmen, navigators and shipbuilders. They were also town planners and they lived in a very good society. The vikings women were very independent because they lived long periods without their travelling men.
